چکیده

In this paper, we develop a method to check the schedulability superframe with beacon-enabled mode in ISA100.11a Wireless Industrial Networks environment. Maximum length of time slot is added in the superframe to reduce the overhead, and deadline monotonic scheduling approach is proposed to analyze the system scenario. The simulation results indicate that our proposed method required less number of beacon for message scheduling. Therefore, more data can be sent in the network with our proposed method. Keywords—Superframe, Scheduling, Beacon, ISA100.11a.

An Adaptive Superframe Duration Allocation Algorithm for Resource-Efficient Beacon Scheduling

Beacon scheduling is considered to be one of the most significant challenges for energy-efficient Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network (LR-WPAN) multi-hop networks. The emerging new standard, IEEE802.15.4e, contains a distributed beacon scheduling functionality that utilizes a specific bitmap and multi-superframe structure. However, this new standard does not provide a critical recipe for su...

Performance Improvement of IEEE 802.15.4 Beacon-Enabled WPAN with Superframe Adaptation Via Traffic Indication

The IEEE 802.15.4 standard provides the widely accepted solution for low-cost and low-power wireless communications. Despite its design support for low duty-cycle operation, the fixed superframe size in Beacon-enabled mode limits its capabilities due to two contrasting goals; energy efficiency and higher data throughput. In this paper, we propose an enhancement of IEEE 802.15.4 Beacon-enabled m...

Energy Efficiency Scheduling Methods for congestion free Wireless Sensor Networks

In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee) protocol stack is a promising technology to attain minimum power transmission in the minimum-rate and short rangewireless Personal Area Network (PAN). The cluster tree topology of IEEE 802.15.4 consists of a PAN coordinator, cluster coordinator and numerous sensor devices. During a period of time, the PAN coordinator transmits the bea...

Differential Dynamic Traffic Control for IEEE 802.15.4 Networks

IEEE 802.15.4 provides beacon enabled and non-beacon enabled modes. Beacon enabled mode is generally used for energy efficiency. However, the main problem of beacon enabled mode is the fixed superframe structure that leads to inefficient transmission in dynamic traffic conditions. Moreover, 802.15.4 does not provide differential service according to traffic types. In this paper, we propose a Di...

D-MAC: A Dynamic MAC Algorithm for the Body Area Sensor Networks Based on IEEE 802.15.4

Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a wireless sensor technology used to connect small nodes with sensing abilities to collect necessary information. IEEE 802.15.4 is commonly adopted for WBAN because of its low duty cycle and low power operation. WBAN data is communicated in a superframe structure defined by IEEE 802.15.4 beacon enabled mode. Superframe structure predominantly based on beacon...
